I just had to say that whatever they are, that is one cute fry! I have 3 older fry swimming around the 55g and it is SO tempting to catch them and put them in the fry tank with the other little babies. But my partner keeps saying...they've survived this long, blah blah blah....

It is so hard to leave them in that big tank of predators!

Yea they are crazy to identify. Most malawi fry are born just like their mother, then at about 2 inch size if male will morph colors. The kenyi actually will have an "ugly" teenage period where they are blue-green-yellow.

Its a strawberry peacock.
There are a few other names for it: sunshine peacock, etc.

I had one and they are beautiful.
Its a line bred color that started in germany.

If you all keep showing me pictures of all these pretty fish, I'm going to need a smiley that looks like the "see-no-evil" monkeys you find in the stores

Shawnie, you are up to your ears in babies right now girlfriend! Congrats on the baby kenyi I used to find little babies in my African tank all the time, but I was never able to get them out because of all the rocks. I'm glad to hear that yours seem to be doing well in there with the big guys!
