That's amazing Shawnie. Is that your 75g?
I'd hate to see your fish food bill. lol
LOL yes thats my 75 gal..its cleaning up nicely if i can say so myself .dont ask about the bill !!!!!! shhhhh ...but I make alot of my food which is much better and more affordable long as I keep doing the shopping , I wont be in that much trouble right ?
Time to go ahead and do the SW tank! It's not as hard as most people think if you go slow and heed the advice. I just started 6 months ago and love it!

its not the advice and work involved..im willing to always learn and ask for help its the finances to get it all going ...ive learned to never start a tank small to always go bigg....right now, the tanks I have are consuming all the extra cash

no on the victorians unless one snuck in on a bag of goodies the bf got LOL which I wouldnt put it past him....but yes 3 zebra obliquidens....
The LFS I worked at used to get cichlids that looked exactly like yours labeled as "sp. 44 obliquedens", and they were Victorian fish, so that's where my comment came from.
Hi Shawnie...
Beautiful fish! I agree... they are the closest in wonderful color that you can find other than a SW tank. Best of luck with them... they look so happy and active.. lol.. nothing like feeding time at Camp Shawnie... hehehe...
Very nice tank!
I noticed you have more male than female Johannii's, does this trigger much aggression?
Also the Kenyi's, do your males confuse the Johannii males as his females or viceversa and cause fights??
I already have 4 Johannii's (2M + 2F) together with 2 young unsexed Cobalt's (40 gal work in progress ) wanted to get Kenyi's, but went with the cobalts because of aggressiveness. Later I am going to add 2 more Johannii females to tame the boys, and 3 more africans from a different genus.
My Johannii's love the sand bottom! and they keep upgrading their caves. Its so funny to watch them dig out to improve their caves, and then spit the sand on little humps. I also have some calcareus 1/2" gravel, but they prefer the sand by far...
I would say that there is enough hori. barring that the male Johanni knows his girls. With the male kenyi having vertical barring it should be pretty obvious.

to be honest, I dont have anything to do with this tank ...other than feed it, laugh at it, check the water parimeters, and video tape it, my bf has total control of it...I have warned him on the stocking and whats recommended m/f ratio, and types, but he does things his way ....all the fish have been fine but they are fed 3-4 times a day ...a ton of hiding spots is probably what has kept the agression down because I can certainly say, and you have confirmed, that the ratio isnt what it should be....I dont even know half the names of the fish in there..africans are the worst to identify to me...I can look one up and it has 3-4 pics that could be the same fish LOL ...I take care of the other 8 tanks and I can tell you every fish in those ....the zebra obliquidens were given to me so those and the basic africans (labs, demonsani, johanni, ) are all I know...so who knows harpua, there might be some vitorians in there knowing the bf...I told him to STOP the stocking until I can get help on the sexes so it can properly be stocked ....
The tank looks great Shawnie They are really coloring up! I could ID them for you, but some of the monomorphic cichlids are almost impossible to sex unless you see them holding
