need help to I.D this fish

my dad just bought this fish but we dont know what it is

just want to know what it is so we can get more to breed them

any comments welcome

how funny. It looks exactly like the one a rescued a few days ago. The best I could figure was a peacock cichlid. The internet pics were similiar except top fin was different color. If anyone knows for sure that would be great.

I might be completly wrong so please don't take this as correct by any means...Steveanglea would know though...But to me it looks like this

Which is a Labidochromis Sp. Hongi but like I said I could be very off..Just an idea.

the photo is off the internet but the fish looks exactly the same a bit less blue though.

Those 2 always throw me off. The hongi and the greyshaki,they all look like jack dempseys to me.Sorry I can't be of any help.

they look very alike but i havent seen my dads fish flare up yet so when i do it will be easier to tell what it is.

ill probally use the fins etc

It looks to me like a young red top hongi, is it around 2 inches right now? If so I would say that it is a male hongi.
I was going to say acei, but it has too much white on the tail and the barring throws it off for being an acei.

yeah its about that size

we got it from a friend that said it was a hybrid but its a nice fish
