New Cichlid Tank!

Hi All,

New to the forum, decided to share my new aquarium! I'm mainly a betta guy (have two 5 gallon tanks, a male halfmoon in one and a male crowntail in the other), but after acquiring a 37 gallon tank...well, you can see what I got myself into.

It was initially supposed to be a community tank, but after purchasing the wrong fine substrate (aragonite), I began considering African Cichlids (an awesome choice)....and loads of lava rock.

3 Electric Yellow and 3 Maingano, very small guys (so my 37 has some breathing room before a transfer is needed). I also have some Danios (leftover from tank cycling also used as target fish to help eliminate any possible aggression).

So very difficult to photograph, they are used to me...but once they see that camera lens...off under the bridge they go. (Perhaps I should start feeding them with camera in hand....)

You have a beautiful tank.

Keeping danios with african mbuna is a bad idea, they will become lunch. Also, be careful putting Melanochromis species in with the labs, they are extremely aggressive and will kill.
