Sold my breeding group of labs... They ship out Monday...

I am trying to figure out what I want to breed in their place?? I have the met species covered in that tank w/ my kenyi group and the psuedo with the Flavus so they cannot be from the met or psuedo groups.

I am thinking Cynatilapia Afra of some kind (any suggestions? I have a group of hai reefs that are reproducing well in my 58g tank) This is one species I found a breeding group for sale : http://www.cichlid-forum.com/profile...es.php?id=1371 I am so tempted to buy it!
Or a tropheops group, I saw one on aquabid that I wish I didn't pass up the male was a reddish color.

I am also going to sale my breeding group of hongi red tops, they just aren't catching my eye enough in the tank they are in. Along with that I have a ruben red pairand my flametail peacocks that I will be getting rid of. This tank is going to be converted to SW once empty.

Right now I am switching my tanks around, I have a new 10g so I am going to get a stand (maybe build it) that holds a 20 on top or a 40l on top and a 10 on the bottom. I really need the grow out tanks, all of my smaller tanks are full of fry. (yellow labs, kenyi, polits, afras, and hongi).

I am also considering getting rid of the flavus group, now they have matured I am not fond of their coloration for breeding. However, I will replace them with higher quality flavus, its one of my fav breeds!
This is what they are supose to look like: http://www.cichlid-forum.com/profile...ies.php?id=889

Im going to let them grow out another month or two before I act on it, the males look like the "maturing males" in the pic. I can already spot about 4 girls out of the group.

I found the new afra group for 50.00 for 6 fish. Which to me is a great deal! Some of my breeding groups have up to 6 fish total. Oherwise its two females and one male.

I have a 20l, 2 10's, 2 5's for grow out tanks, going to get hopefully a 40l, and get rid of the 2 5's, they are being used as a holding tank for the mothers when they are holding the eggs, then I move the babies into the bigger tanks.

There is one seller on there that sells most of his fish for 50-60$ for shipping and 6 cichilds, I ordered my afras that I got this past summer from him, my polits and then when I go for more fish I will get them from him again.

The afra females are usually a little more "dull" my female afras that I have are a pretty blue color with yellow tinges on their dorsal fins. Then my males look like they are lit up like christmas trees w/ color.

With the exception of a few species, yes.
Kenyi females are bright blue with stripes, the male is a plain yellow.
There are a few species that the female is brighter, not common though in malawi mbuna.

The cobue are pretty afra, not nearly as much as white tops though, imo Much more passive in my experience as well.

Regarding troph's.. they are quite difficult to maintain but are truely beautiful fish. You're looking at an easy way and a hard way
