I have 1 Male and 3 Female Multies in a ten gallon tank and from what ive seen they are preparing to spawn. Their clearing the sand around the base of the shells and one of the females won't let the male into the shell they shared.
My questions is how would i remove the fry from the shells once there at a size to sell on?
They don't stay in the shell. they will come out and swim around their home shell. Multis don't eat their fry so it's ok to leave them in the tank until big enough to take out. You will be able to net them out when you get ready to remove them. Or if you have to you can remove the shell they go into and put in a bowl of tank water until they come out and remove the shell.
Multis just naturally move the sand around and bury unused shells.

Agreed. Just give it time and let them come out and grow some. Easier to catch and sell that way. The kids would eventually make a breeding colony with the parents.
I've also heard if you suspend the shells up in the water column in a mesh bag the lil ones can easily fit out they'll come out and be much easier to catch. I only ever bothered taking young uns out once, though, and didn't have too much trouble.
We'll see how it goes when my lil ocellatus are big enough... lol
Shellies are so cute
I was always tricky when catching Multis, sprinkle a tiny bit of food on the surface and the whole colony comes out for lunch then scoop them up.
