When you think that a kenyi is aggressive.....

I have had bumblebees, met zebras, kenyi, labs, peacocks (ob, ruben reds, flame tails sunburst, red shoulder, tropheops, cynatilapia afras, Mel aurartus, acei, and many more of the Lake Malawi Mbuna/peacocks...

Out of all of them I thought the kenyi's had a nasty attuitude.... I got my psuedo flavus, and psuedo poilts yesterday..

My flavus are in a tank to theirselves until the bumblebee finds a new home, and they grow out more (that would put 2 psuedo species in the same tank)...
The poilts however got to go straight to their tank, along w/ cynatilapia afras, WOW! This morning after all day the poilts not having any color from shipping were lit up like christmas trees and they have took over the tank, there is 7 of them total and they are rough little fellows! Only about 2 inches and the afra are the same size and they are controling the tank.

I can't wait to show the little devils off! I am supose to get my comp back tomm, so I will post some pics.

You shouldn't have 2 of any species types in one tank unless it is huge. Polits are very aggressive. PS.Flavus and PS polits will eventually fight. Afra and polits will be aggressive to same sizes so they will fight. Too many fish that are striped shouldn't be in the same tank. The males compete for the females b/c they all look similar.
You have been mixing them up and having problems since the beginning. Not to sound mean but don't you research your fish before buying? The ad konigning book has the right names in there too.
Kenyi are a zebra type, and how many types of afra do you have? I learned from buying every fish I like a long time ago, not all species of Africans can go together, not unless you have a huge tank. You need to figure out what species you like best, get a big tank & stop buying fish until you get the one sorted you have now. Otherwise you are going to have huge problems in the sizes of tanks you have. Please don't take offense the what I have said...I just would hate to see your fishies kill each other off and not say what I know and have learned from my mistakes and other people who have been into africans for years. Things are said in the cookie cutter outline on cichlid forum about not mixing up the same species in certain sized tanks.
This site has the correct scientific names.

Yes, I do research my fish before buying, that is how I picked my species I wanted. I only have one type of afra (its hai reef), The pseudo flavus and polits are in sep tanks, and will not be mixed.

I don't have the kenyi in the tank w/ the polits either or the flavus. I have also thined down my large cichlilds to the species I want to keep for breeding, which are psuedo flavus, psuedo polits, labs, cyn afra hai reef, greyshakis, I have my kenyi however I am getting rid of them. I have also a troph lilac, and I am trying to find him some females. All of my breeding cichlids have a trio or larger with a 3 + ratio of females to males (with the exception of my peacocks which are paired up and I only have 2 species of them)

we are also getting a 90g tank to replace the 55g, and I am not adding any more species to it just because its a larger tank, I plan to keep whats in it and put the larger mbuna in it. (I still will have my 58g and 36g)
