How much air do you put in to your african tanks?

I am seriously considering cuting down or off the air pumps if need be. The filters are putting a lot of flow into the big tanks and the air stones seem to be over kill What do you all do with your african tanks?

It is allways good to have extra oxygen in the tank. It's not going to harm the fish in any way, but if yo want to shut off the bubbler I would buy a ton of live plants. If you do buy the plants it is reccomended that you shut off the bubbler because it will some how harm the plants. Also I do not think that using only the filter for circulation of oxygen is a good idea.

It's not really harmful but If you are running CO2 the surface agitation will off gas the CO2 instead of it being available for the plants use.
If you are not running CO2 then the surface agitation will help the water absorb CO2 from the surrounding air for your plants. Granted it's not a lot but it's some My plants don't mind the bubblers at all.
