Not all kenyi males have the stripes. There are a lot of species of cichlids that are all yellow like yours, you might want to look at cichlid forums profiles.

w/ the kenyi's telling the difference in the sex is by the color. the males are yellow and the females are blue with black bars. if it is a kenyi then it is def a male

The yellow one if it has one egg spot is a male kenyi, if it doesn't its a psuedo saulosi, the other is a lab fuelleborni, the overbite gives the species away on him.

Definently not a Kenyi. I'd go with either a Female saulosi or a Female Metriaclima Msobo. However, both species all start yellow, and males will hide yellow until they want to color up and become the dominant male. With my Msobo i had multipule males but only 1 showed the black and blue color because they don't want to pose a threat to the dominant male.
Not just males have eggspots. There have been quite a few females show up with eggspots before, mostly with the zebras but you never know. I'd NEVER sex just by eggspots. Very unreliable.

I was going on species with the egg spots, if it was a male kenyi, it would have had one egg spot on its anal fin, thats why the id of a saulosi, the female kenyis are easy to id, they are blue and black w/ stripes. the saulosi males are blue, females yellow.

Juvi saulosi males are also yellow, so at a young age its hard to tell. Same with Msobo.
