I cannot wait!

Once the last 17 piranhas are sold...we're getting into African cichlids again. We are buying back some of the ones we had last year and getting some new ones. Lake Malawi mbuna....staying away from peacocks & most haps.
A friend of ours has some Metriaclima pyrsonotos/Red Top zebra fry growing out and another is giving up some that aren't mixing with his favorites.
We know what can mix together and which ones we like...last time I had too many species at once. I cannot wait to set up the 100g as a cichlid tank.

I love all african cichlids but I truly LM Mbuna. So pretty.

Thanks oh I will...africans are the most active & interesting fish I've had so far.
We had 30 baby red bellies but sold most of them.

I'm enjoying my africans. Quite a bunch of characters I must say :-)

Allie, tell me about yoru experience peacocks. My two are VERY docile, but I think that may be because they are both female (I think, both are pretty plain coloring) I'm just curious about what may happen if and when I add a male into the tank if in fact both of mine are female.

It is the male peacocks that we found very aggressive a Eureka red and a few A. stevenis...they chased & beat the rest of the fish, especially their females. They were constantly disrupting the rest of the fish. My poor female peacocks were hiding & holding all the time. They were worse than the mbuna we had.
I would get another female or 2 just in case..we had two for each male & that wasn't enough. They say you should have at least 3 females to each male.
