Doing research before you purchase your livestock will prevent you from doing really short sighted things with your aquarium, such as trying to stuff a pacu into a 10 gallon tank, cramping a goldfish in a small goldfish bowl, putting big fish into a small tank, putting small fish in with larger more aggressive species or putting multiple male bettas in the same aquarium!
